Wedding Party

Stephanie Joseph - Maid of Honor

Though they sometimes might be mistaken for twins, Stephanie is Katherine's older sister by 3 years. From playing on the same softball teams to competitively racing for first place in Mario Kart, they have known each other through the good and bad. Even though there is always a bit of sibling rivalry, they have been, and still remain, close, and got even closer through their college years. While they found their own way in their very different careers in very different states (nursing and costume design), they always made the time when one called to catch up with the other, which would usually lead to the most informative hour and a half phone call. And now that they live in the same state again, those phone calls will turn into weekend hangouts! Stephanie can't wait to stand by her little sisters side as her maid of honor as she marries the man she has always wanted for her sister to be with. This will be the wedding/celebration of the century!

Phillip Schaefer - Best Man

Philipp is Arnold’s second youngest brother, but rest assured that that the difference in age is not indicative of a difference in appetite. Both Arnold and Philipp fought diligently throughout the years for the last eggo waffle, German pancake, or schnitzel. No matter what it was, Phil always wanted to be like his older brother, from having the cool room in the house, to the music he secretly shazamed during car rides to high school together, where Arnold was lucky enough to be graced by Phil’s presence as a wee freshman. This was all because of how much he looked up to him, and how much he wanted to emulate that himself. These two always had a close connection, despite one of them being forced to stay at the kid’s table while the other sat with the adults playing cards. Philipp is so proud of his older brother and now sister, and couldn’t be happier for the two of them to start this new chapter in their life! Here’s to hoping that any disagreements they may endure are more civil than North Carolina Uno tournaments…

Kennice Sawyer - Matron of Honor

While some may use Facebook Marketplace to buy and sell treasures, Kennice and Katherine used it to find the greatest treasure of all … each other as random roommates! Purdue University Nursing program didn’t stand a chance against this dynamic duo - late nights (of studying), sorority and fraternity dance dates (to help their peers study), and frequenting everyone’s favorite Purdue bar, Harry’s Chocolate Shop, together (to study of course!). Nine years later, these two girls are as close as they were back in college, and Kennice can’t wait to stand by Kat’s side as her matron of honor as she marries the love of her life. This will be the most fun, joyous, love-filled wedding of the century!

Christoph Schaefer - Groomsman

Born only one day apart in October, Christoph is Arnold‘s oldest younger brother by two years. Christoph and Arnold always had the classic older brother/younger brother relationship (a.k.a. many little fights over many stupid things). Still, Christoph always looked up to how accomplished and driven Arnold was from a very early age. From playing soccer together as kids to Arnold helping guide Christoph in his career out of college, they always had each other’s back no matter what it was. Christoph and Arnold would even talk through the bedroom wall they shared as kids in Germany when they both got in trouble and couldn’t leave their rooms, so there was always a close connection. While Arnold has many accomplishments under his belt so far, his biggest is finding someone who also shares the same love for the Harry Potter franchise as Christoph does and he cannot wait to celebrate the big day soon!

Spencer Chiles-Scepura - Man of Honor

Some meet their best friends in school, I met mine in my front yard as a neighbor at the ripe age of 2. Since then, Katherine and I have done everything from making music videos (that should never see the light of day), road trips from Chicago to Maryland, half marathons, and even me acting as her chauffeur pilot and flying her back from college. 24 years later she is now my go to phone call for last minute trips out to see her and split a pitch of margaritas just because I am flying through that city. I am excited to stand by her side and can’t wait to see what amazing adventures are to come for the soon to be newlywed couple!

Marcus Schaefer - Groomsman

My name is Marcus, and as the youngest in the family, I naturally experienced more leniency from our parents, something Arnold undoubtedly observed with a mix of amusement and frustration since he was the eldest. While he had to wait years to ditch his helmet during our bike rides as kids, I seemed to gain that privilege almost instantly. Despite the age gap, Arnold and I share many interests. When Arnold was younger he used to build these model planes, and I always used to sneak into his room and look at them, I suppose I admired the craftsmanship. Soccer is another passion we both embrace – he even coached my middle school team, though my playing time was minimal, perhaps as payback for the helmet privileges. But beyond the playful banter and shared hobbies, there's a profound admiration I hold for Arnold. Arnold has always been more than just a brother to me; he's been a mentor, and a friend. His intellect has always astounded me, and now, as he stands beside his beautiful bride, I couldn't be happier for the two of them. Cheers, big bro, to a lifetime of happiness.

Izzie Van-Zuylen - Bridesmaid

Izzie met Kat when she had recently moved to Indianapolis and was on the hunt for girlfriends, and she truly hit the jackpot by meeting Kat. They bonded quickly over Bachelor Mondays and Rathskeller Fridays, and Izzie was immediately struck by Kat’s kindness and generosity as a friend. Kat is truly the mom of the friend group in the best way - always offering to host the friend group for “family dinners” and offering up her guest room for visits once Izzie moved away from Indy. Kat and Arnie’s engagement celebration was filled with so much love and joy, and Izzie can’t wait to soon continue celebrating these two beautiful people in California!

Michelle Clarkson - Bridesmaid

Three years ago, in the heart of Indianapolis, at a vibrant tropical-themed soirée, Kat and I found ourselves bonding over our shared love of Zara jeans and the latest trends. It didn't take long to realize that our connection ran deeper than just a mutual admiration for style! Our passion for F1 races added another layer to our bond – cheering for our favorite drivers, dissecting race strategies, and reveling in the drama of it all. Together, we've danced the night away at Harry Styles concerts, enjoyed countless downtown girls' nights out, and indulged in all things bubble tea and brunch, cherishing our love of books and wine along the way. Kat and I have shared countless unforgettable moments together. As she prepares to tie the knot, I am thrilled to stand by her side as a bridesmaid, ready to witness her love story continue to unfold and support her in this new chapter. This wedding will undoubtedly be a celebration filled with happiness, love, and cherished memories that will last a lifetime!

Serin Waddell - Bridesmaid

During the pandemic, it was difficult to meet other girls my age, being completely new to the city for a job, in one of the craziest situations the world has ever seen. Meeting Kat was a bright spot that year! The night I met her at the District Tap with Arnie, she was an instant friend and was immediately invited to come on a girls trip to Florida with us! The rest has been history! Kat is so witty and so sharp and loves so wholly, it’s been amazing watching Arnold fall in love with her. It brings me joy seeing her and Arnold continue to grow together as a couple and make big life decisions as a team. I love them with my whole heart and can’t wait to celebrate their love!

Sadie Smith - Bridesmaid

Originally introduced by their Seminole boyfriends (or fiancé now!) coincidentally starting a new life in Indianapolis, Sadie and Kat became fast friends bonding over their ZTA roots, fantasy novels, and dreams of future girls trips. Navigating post-college life and a new city became manageable with this girl group that formed, and although Kat and Arnold are taking on another new city now, the memories made over glasses of wine and scream-singing 1985 are the kind that last a lifetime. Sadie has felt so lucky to watch Arnold and Kat’s love story unfold and feels even luckier to get to stand next to them as they take on this next chapter of life together! The easiest couple to celebrate!
